5 Ways to Say ‘Thank You’ on Employee Appreciation Day

Think about the tasks required by your business each and every day. Now imagine trying to get those done without any employees. Tough, right?

Employees play a large role in the overall success of your organization. Whether they are the head honcho or a part-time intern, each employee contributes in one way or another. With everyone’s busy schedules, it’s easy to let hard work go unnoticed. However, it’s important to reward employees for their achievements and thank them for all that they do.

Take some time to recognize your team by celebrating Employee Appreciation Day tomorrow, Friday, March 3. Here are a few ideas for things you can do to celebrate your employees:

Give Gifts – You don’t have to give anything fancy. A simple gift card, treat basket, company-branded apparel or new office tool can go a long way. Make it a surprise and leave it on your employees’ desks before they arrive for the day.

Send a Note – Believe it or not, sending a thank-you card with a personal message can make someone’s day. Let them know how much you appreciate their work and everything they do for the organization. The key to this is to make it personal!

Have Lunch – Treat your employees to a catered lunch or take them out. Spending this time with your employees can show that you do appreciate all that they do, and it might help boost relationships.

Take a Field Trip – Schedule some time in the day to do something fun as a team. This could include bowling, going to a sporting event or simply having a bags tournament in the parking lot. Allowing your employees to get away from their desks and have some fun can be very beneficial.

Give Them Time Off – Employee Appreciation Day falls on a Friday and sometimes motivation to get work done on a Friday afternoon is low. So, reward your employees by sending them home an hour early. Better yet, make it a surprise and email them at 3 p.m. to tell them they can take off for the day. Your employees will surely be happy about this!
